Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Saturday market by the harbor
German poster lettering was the starting point, which makes Wellfleet a slab serif with display roots that still works as a text face. Riccardo De Franceschi kept the contrast low and gave the letters a bouncy, upbeat rhythm, and he meant it to hold up across a wide range of sizes, from a poster down to a paragraph.
It runs wide, so a column of it will hold fewer words than a typical book serif. That is the main cost. 1 Regular style, extended Latin, no OpenType features, so plan for no bold and no italic. For a farmers’ market poster or a cookbook it has the right cheer.
