A Note On The Page

Yesteryear · Regular

A short letter, set in the family.

Thursday afternoon

Dear Alex,

I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.

See you there.

Think of the chrome script bolted to the fender of an old car. Yesteryear gets compared to exactly that, though its real source was the title screen of the 1942 film The Palm Beach Story, which Astigmatic used loosely and sharpened a little along the way.

It is a connected script written with a flat nib. The capitals are tall and the lowercase very short, less than 0.4 of the capital height, so names and titles with a strong initial work best. 1 style, with Latin Extended.
